Baby Elephant Running - Bronze Sculpture (1218)

£155.00

Surprisingly, elephant calves can run at 25 mph, although technically, because they always have one foot on the ground they are not running! They are also good swimmers. For the first four years of life they need their Mother for milk, and re-assurance. In fact, for added re-assurance, they suck their trunks in the same way human babies suck their thumbs. Height: 8cm x Width: 12cm x Depth: 5.7cm Weight: 456g Limited Edition: 200 Sculptor: Dean Kendrick The baby elephant is made in solid foundry bronze using the ancient method of lost wax casting. The design finished by the art of patination where various acids are applied to the surface of the bronze and heat applied to create a deep rich brown patina.
