As a contrast to the action and antics Michael has portrayed in his collection of Hare designs, this sculpture shows the Hare quietly lying in grass soaking up the early Spring sunshine. Living as it does above ground, the colour of its coat, which matches the ground and grass, is a necessity, and makes it very difficult to spot. The design finished by the art of patination where various acids are applied to the surface of the bronze and heat applied to create a deep rich brown patina.
